Blog Entry – Sports Illustrated

Tiger Woods, 2019 Masters Tournament Champion Sports Illustrated Cover Photograph by Sports Illustrated

The Sports Illustrated cover that I chose to write my blog about would be when Tiger Woods won the 2019 Masters Tournament. I, myself, have been a huge fan of golf for a few years, both watching tours and participating in even a few tournaments myself. Golf is a very unique and interesting sport that requires an immense amount of skills and precision. This picture is so significant because it shows his fifth time winning a Master’s Tournament, making him the second best player when it comes to winning the Masters. Although it is heavily argued that he is the greatest golf player of all time due to all of his other achievements within his career.

I find this picture so inspiring because it shows his relentless and unwavering determination when it comes to winning and being the best he possibly can. The picture in-captures his final putt on the 18th hole during the Master’s, where he sunk the putt to solidify his position as the winner of the tournament. After his performance in this tournament, he really was capable of showing off his skillset and proving to everyone that he can contend to the position of the greatest golf player of all time. With Tiger Woods still participating in events and tournaments, he is far from done and can earn more respect and reputation with his skilled game and competitiveness.

At the age of 43, Tiger Woods has created history by winning his 5th Masters, solidifying him in a position amongst the oldest, most significant golf champions. And will forever be an icon and legend for many years to come.
